Principles Of Ayurveda

Caring for your Body Type

Ayurveda sees everything in the universe, including human beings, as composed of five basic elements (or Panchamahabhutas): space, air, fire, water and earth.

These five elements in turn combine with each other to give rise to three bio-physical forces (or Doshas) within the human body- Vata (air and space), Pitta (fire and water) and Kapha (water and earth). Together they are known as Tridosha and govern all the biological, physiological and psychological functions of the mind and body, both, physical and emotional, as well as effecting how an individual interacts with everything around them.

Every individual has within them all three bio-physical forces, but it is the dominance of any one or two or all three that makes up a person's individual constitution or Prakriti.

Although a person's Dosha type is determined at the moment of conception, Doshas are constantly shifting within the body. Just as the five basic elements fluctuate within the nature, these elements will also fluctuate within the body. Therefore the Dosha dominance changes with age, time of day or night and the season etc.

Ayurveda seeks to treat the mind and body according to a person's Dosha using a system combining diet, herbal remedies, detoxification, Yoga, Ayurvedic massage, lifestyle routine and behaviours which stimulate positive emotions.

Copper Bottle Use & Safety

How should I store my copper bottle?

We recommend storing your bottle with the lid off. This will help keep your bottle looking and smelling fresh. Allow your bottle to air dry completely with the lid open. This will help to avoid unwanted moisture build up in your bottle and around the seal.

What liquids can I use in my copper bottle?

Our current range of copper bottles are all unlined, traditional vessels — designed specifically for plain, still water.

Please avoid:

  • Fizzy or carbonated liquids (such as sparkling water or soft drinks), as these can create internal pressure and risk damaging the bottle.
  • Acidic or flavoured drinks, which can react with the copper.
  • Hot or boiling liquids, as copper is a highly conductive material, this could pose a burn hazard or lead to structural stress.

For best results, use your copper bottle for room temperature or cool still water only.

How do I care & clean my copper bottle? Can I use a dishwasher?

Always hand wash your copper bottle — never use a dishwasher, as high heat and detergents can damage the copper surface.

For daily care:

Rinse with lukewarm, soapy water

Dry thoroughly after each use

For deeper cleaning (weekly or as needed):

Mix lemon juice and salt, apply gently with a soft cloth

Rinse well with clean water

Do not drink the cleaning solution or let it sit inside the bottle

Let the bottle air dry naturally with the lid off to prevent moisture buildup. This helps preserve the natural beauty and effectiveness of the copper.

Can I infuse water or add supplements?

We recommend using your copper bottle for plain, still water only.

Avoid adding:

Fruits or citrus

Flavoured powders or supplements

Herbs or teas

Acidic or reactive ingredients can interact with the copper, increasing leaching and affecting taste, safety, and bottle longevity.
For infused water or supplements, we suggest using a glass or stainless-steel bottle instead.

Will the water taste metallic?

You may notice a slight metallic taste during the first few uses — this is normal and typically fades with regular use.

Most customers find the water tastes clean, cool, and refreshing after a few cycles. To help reduce any initial taste:

Rinse with mild soapy water before first use

Don’t leave water in the bottle for more than 8 hours

If the taste becomes strong, simply refresh the water and avoid letting it sit for extended periods.

Are there any health warnings about using copper bottles?

Copper is essential for health in small amounts, but excessive intake can be harmful.

To stay within safe levels:

Use your bottle only for still water

Limit storage to 4–8 hours at a time

Do not use for hot, acidic, or fizzy drinks

If you have a copper-sensitive condition (such as Wilson’s disease) or are unsure about copper intake, please consult your doctor before use.

We design our bottles for occasional, mindful use — in line with Ayurvedic principles and World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines on safe copper exposure.

How much water does each copper bottle hold?

Our copper bottles come in a variety of sizes, with our most popular option holding 950ml of water.

The exact size for each product is listed on the Product Information section of the individual product page.

Where are your copper bottles manufactured?

Our signature copper bottles collection is handcrafted in Moradabad, India (U.P. 244001) — a region renowned for its metalwork and artisan heritage.

Each vessel begins its journey at the Malanjkhand copper deposit, where it’s shaped by skilled artisans using 100% pure copper, following traditional techniques passed down through generations. Our workshops are ISO 9001:2008 certified, ensuring both quality and craftsmanship.

Copper’s natural antimicrobial, antiviral, and antifungal properties have long been celebrated in Ayurveda and holistic wellness, making these vessels as functional as they are beautiful.
